A Note from Our Founder
It has long been a dream of mine to make evidence-based learning therapies accessible to children in need regardless of financial ability. I am thrilled to share with you our new born nonprofit, Ready to Read will do just that!
Ready to Read’s mission is to provide evidence-based reading interventions to underprivileged students in Orange County. Our goal is to provide full or partial scholarships for children who struggle with various language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyslecalculia so they can receive proper interventions necessary for remediation.
Literacy is not only the key to academic success, but the key to life success. Unfortunately, there are almost 750,000 children in Orange County who are impacted by language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. Children who do not receive the appropriate diagnosis and reading therapy have a much higher incidence of anxiety and depression. Additionally, children with learning disabilities have a much higher high school drop-out rate which significantly impacts long-term employment options.
A Note From Our Founder
Personal Experience.
My daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia in Kindergarden. At a young age, she experienced anxiety in the classroom. I have seen firsthand how critical early intervention is for struggling learners. She is now a college graduate with a BA from San Francisco State University, despite many teachers doubting her abilities to graduate from a university.
